Welcome! I’m Griffen Engelberg, a Journalism major and W.A.Franke Honors student at the University of Arizona. For years I have been passionate about film and started at a very young age making stop motion videos and movies with friends. As I began my college career, I have continued to pursue my love of film by minoring in Film and Television and joining Delta Kappa Alpha, a cinematic fraternity on campus. I am also a foodie and enjoy trying new restaurants and new foods wherever I go. My passions are food, film and sports!

A couple of years ago I took a food journalism class here at the University of Arizona that resonated with me. This began my pursuit of researching and writing content related to food, especially the local flavors in Tucson. My horizons expanded during my study abroad experience in Orvieto, Italy over the last summer, and I am currently working on my honors thesis project related to food journalism alongside my professor, Kendal Blust.

To gain some experience and insight into the many facets of journalism, I am currently working as an intern with the Varsity Sports Show. It has been an amazing opportunity, and I have gained so much knowledge about broadcast radio, collaborating with my broadcast team, researching and writing sports content, as well as doing play by play, color commentating, field correspondence, and more.
